NOTICE: GOOD NEWS — We are still meeting in Houston on November 8-10th!!! The Board of Directors with help from TTI Event Management has negotiated a new hotel contract so our meeting can go on as planned.
The only difference is the conference will now be at the Hilton Houston North, see hotel information below, and our Topgolf scholarship raising event will be at the Topgolf in Spring.
We are preparing for the 2017 ITS Texas Annual Meeting in Houston. Clear your schedules, register for the conference, reserve a room at the conference hotel, and make your plans to attend. The 2017 ITS Texas Annual Meeting will include the option to attend the golf event at Top Golf Houston which should prove to be a great twist to our Annual Golf Tournament. Additional Events
Topgolf Scholarship Event
ITS Texas is pleased to announce that our annual scholarship event will be a twist on the typical golf tournament. We will be taking over Topgolf – Spring for a scholarship fundraiser and social event on the evening of November 8 (rain or shine – hot or cold, this is golf with a roof and climate control).
Arrive by 7:00 pm for a social event with full fajita dinner provided at 7:30 pm. At 8:00 pm we’ll begin warmup for a scramble-format tournament. Teams of three players will compete in the tournament for about an hour and a half, but three hours of continuous play is included for everyone participating. We’ll follow up with a 19th hole awards ceremony featuring team awards, closest to the pin and longest drive awards.
Dinner includes beef and chicken fajitas, cilantro rice, chipotle braised black beans, tortillas, and all the fixin’s. Bottomless soda, iced tea, coffee and water are included with your meal. Two drink tickets will be provided to each participant (wine, beer or mixed drink).
Sponsorships for this scholarship fundraising event are available and we welcome sponsorships from our ITS Vendor Group and from our member engineering firms. Proceeds go to scholarships for graduate students in Texas universities preparing for dedicated careers in the ITS field. Over the past eleven years, ITS Texas has awarded $44,500 in scholarships to deserving students — your participation in the annual meeting and in your generous sponsorship of events like this allow us to sustain this tradition.
Training
Audience: Transportation operations/traffic engineers or managers, public or private who want a better understanding of the enabling technologies involved in Cyber Security of Surface Transportation Systems.
The ITS Texas Board of Directors is pleased to announce that our training in conjunction with the Annual Meeting is scheduled to be on the topic of Cyber Security of Surface Transportation Systems.
This class is intended for professionals working with surface transportation systems. Cyber Security is an increasingly important topic and is constantly changing as expected for the technologies evolving under competitive pressure. This course is intended to help transportation professionals improve their understanding of the subject, and offer the tools that are useful for learning more about cyber security and resilience.
The training is scheduled for 9:00 am on November 8, 2017 and will last approximately six hours. Lunch will be on your own, but there are many options near the hotel. The hotel provides a shuttle within a three mile radius.

- Register before October 9, 2017 at 5:00 pm CST to receive the early bird rate. After this time, registration rates will increase by $50.00.
- Online registration is available until November 1, 2017 at 5:00 pm CST. After November 1, 2017, registration will be available on-site during the annual meeting.
Please make check or money order (U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank) payable to TTI-ITS17. Event Management&Planning (EM&P) also accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards. If paying by check or money order, you may register online and then mail your payment to EM&P. EM&P cannot invoice; therefore, payment of the conference registration fee must be received prior to admission to the conference. NO PURCHASE ORDERS ACCEPTED.

On-Site Registration
Conference registration will be available at the hotel immediately prior to the conference. An on-site registration fee of $310 for members and $360 for non-members will be in effect during that time. Check, money order, exact cash, and credit card payments will be accepted on-site.
On-site registration will be available in the lobby of the Hilton Houston North Hotel starting at the following times:
- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Wednesday, November 8
- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Thursday, November 9
- 8:00 am – 12:00 noon; Friday, November 10
Cancellations
Only cancellations received in writing by EM&P ([email protected]) by 5:00 pm, October 8, 2017 will be refunded, less a $50 handling fee.
No refunds will be made after October 8, 2017.
Hotel Information
The 2017 ITS Texas Annual meeting is being held at the beautiful Hilton Houston North hotel. A special rate of $121/night is available until October 17 or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first.

This room block is expected to fill up so please don’t hesitate and miss the rate.

Shuttle Service
The Hilton Houston North offers free shuttle service to and from Bush Intercontinental Airport. To arrange pick up, please call the hotel when you arrive at the airport. A recreational shuttle is also available for guests. View the transportation schedule for more information.
