Welcome to the 4th Annual Texas A&M Transportation Technology Conference. Speakers this year will highlight automated, connected, and autonomous vehicle research projects, pilots, and deployment activities in Texas and across the country. The conference includes workshops, general sessions, student posters, and tours of research underway at the Texas A&M University System RELLIS Campus.
The conference kicks off Monday afternoon with workshops on low-speed autonomous shuttles and transportation blockchain applications. General sessions focus on research projects, pilots, and deployments associated with infrastructure needs, system user perspectives, truck automation, and workforce development. Tours and demonstrations of the smart intersection which alerts pedestrians and bicyclists of turning buses; advanced tolling; the visibility laboratory; and other RELLIS technology, research facilities and projects will be available. Numerous opportunities to network with your peers will also be provided.
The Texas A&M University System includes world-class universities and research agencies. The Texas A&M University College of Engineering is one of the largest engineering programs in the country. Formed in 1950, the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) is the largest and one of the oldest university-affiliated transportation research institutes in the country. The Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) and the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) provide depth and breadth through research, training, and outreach in disaster response, firefighting, law enforcement, engineering, and numerous other disciplines. Combined, these institutions conduct over $225 million annually in research and employ well-known and highly regarded researchers and faculty. The rapid development of the RELLIS Campus provides a world-class research and education facility for transformational technologies and services.
