Teen Traffic Safety Education: Creating a Traffic Safety Culture at Your School
Attend this special session designed for teachers/sponsors administering (or interested in administering) the TDS program in your school. This session focuses on the top five driving risks that contribute to the number one cause of teen deaths in America: car crashes. Attendees will receive information related to nighttime/drowsy driving, speeding/racing, distractions, seat belt use and impaired driving along with resources to help enhance their use of the lifesaving program called Teens in the Driver Seat®. Presenters will utilize higher-order thinking strategies through hands-on lessons and activities while also applying differentiated instruction designed to engage attendees with all types of learning styles. Participants will also gain access to various free resources related to traffic safety education in order to facilitate the creation of a traffic safety culture at their school.
Sign-up is limited to the first 25 adults. This special session will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. CST. Participation is available at no cost. To sign up, contact Lisa Minjares at [email protected]. Spaces will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis — so please sign up early! Continuing professional education hours are available for Texas-based teachers.
